Privacy Policy

Last updated November 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CheapFly.ca (“CheapFly”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit cheapfly.ca (the “Site”). We follow the principles of Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you subscribe to deal alerts, request a quote, enter a contest, apply for a role, pledge support or contact us, we collect what you type into the form — for example your name, email address, province, home airport, travel preferences, phone number (optional) and message.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider and the third-party services listed below may automatically receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring page and approximate location. We use this data in aggregate to run and improve the Site.

Information stored in your browser. We use your browser’s local storage to remember preferences such as dark mode, whether you dismissed the cookie notice or a pop-up, and whether you subscribed. This information stays on your device.

2. How we use information

  • To send the deal alerts and newsletters you request, personalised to your preferences.
  • To respond to messages, quote requests, applications, pledges and partnership enquiries.
  • To run contests, verify eligibility and contact winners.
  • To operate, secure, measure and improve the Site and our tools.
  • To show advertising that helps keep the Site free (see section 4).

We send commercial email only with your express consent, and every message includes our identification and a working unsubscribe mechanism, as CASL requires.

3. Form processing and service providers

Forms on the Site are delivered to our team through a third-party form-processing service (FormSubmit), which receives the information you submit in order to forward it to us. We may use other service providers for email delivery, hosting (GitHub Pages) and analytics. These providers process information on our behalf and may store it outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

We do not sell personal information. We share a quote request (group travel or vacation concierge) with a vetted travel partner only when you tick the box asking us to do so.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.

If you choose “Essential only” in our cookie notice, we ask Google to serve non-personalised ads. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform where required.

5. Embedded content

Some pages embed YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The video player loads only when you click play; after that, YouTube’s privacy policy applies. Links to third-party sites (airlines, search engines and booking sites) are governed by those sites’ own policies.

6. Retention

We keep subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and other submissions only as long as needed for the purpose you gave them to us, or as required by law.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may withdraw consent at any time (subject to legal or contractual restrictions). To make a request, use our contact form and choose “Privacy request”. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

8. Children

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
